I love my Medicare. This is based on experience in US healthcare which includes direct care, admissions and discharge planning and as a decision maker for private healthcare providers. Medicare is not perfect but add a supplement and there is no better healthcare coverage in America. It should, however, be better.

Old Joe doesn't matter. Young Kamala does. And mostly she doesn't matter, the opinions of the utopia enforcing billionaires who control her are what matters. I think they primarily want to feel good about themselves. That will come from the moral thrill they will get from inflicting woke on us all and the primitive thrill of exercising their power in doing so.

Wow I’m surprised I opine on Medicare for all and I search a post earlier than the one I commented and lo and behold you are for it too....a national health system is sensible. Yes of course without the creepy UK stuff

Two things we need

1) a serious investigation into hospital and pharma monopolies, forcibly breaking them up to drive up competition and drive down prices

2) a complete prohibition on the selling of different services and goods at different prices to different people. The price of a service or good should be upfront

3) a ban on surprise billing

4) regular audits and industry wide standards enforced

5) price gouging needs to be investigated and banned

6) we should replace all private insurance with one powerful public insurance. Lots of room for debate here of course but it’s doable I think. The USA functions as a big insurance company in a lot of ways anyway now. And 500 different insurance companies are adding needless complication into people’s lives. Complication is generally bad. We want citizens just focused on being productive and raising strong families.

But Mickey is Biden woke enough and quick enough on his feet to oppose the Wokeness that doth not sleep?

People that think Medicare works haven't tried to find a new doctor to see them if they are on Medicare, even those with the supplemental insurance. It's not worth the doctors time.

“Medicare seems like a program that works...”. Yeah, ask doctors about that. Government-set fees for service doesn’t resemble any type of free market, removes competition and doesn’t weed out the bad docs. And let’s not talk about the rampant Medicare fraud, okay Mickey? Yep, it’s a great program!

Why wouldn't it go this way? There are no limiting principles at play once you decide that a person's group memberships are crucial and you ditch Christianity. From where will you derive your moral stance allowing you to yell, "STOP?" The left is no longer motivated by compassion, open-mindedness and tolerance. That was discarded a while back. Wokeness is simply the most recent stop in the evolution of the left. It's not done evolving yet.

Biden has the mental faculties of a 12 year old. He won't be doing anything. Alexander Soros will be Shadow President and be making the decisions, as he has for the DNC and its main players for 6 years now.

But Trump won't be leaving so the point is moot.

Does the Woke movement have a symbol or logo yet? Perhaps a large staring eye ball?

This post is misunderstanding what "wokeness" is and where its core is really located. Biden can't "sister-soulja" a figure like Harald Schmidt without insulting his most important constituency: the rich liberals. If a Schmidt-firing becomes frontpage news (and if it doesnt there's no point in the souljah-op, right?) then rich liberals will feel insulted because they'll see that's what's being tossed aside is their *own* ethos, their own slogans and yardsigns and op-eds, from summer 2020. Biden isn't going to do that. Liberals, for the most part, arent wired like Robert Wright or Matt Yglesias; rather, they see the world as the NYT sees the world.

Shorter Kaus: Sarah Palin was right!

The problem with this is that the "liberals" are all moral cowards. So the idea that they'll actually fight the Left is ludicrous
